We were young teenagers and always friends with Buzz.  We would sit for hours just talking on the phone. I miss the funny ways you would try to get women. You would ask if that shit would really work. Or how you would constantly be taking your lips and blowing air upwards that it would cause your hair above your brow line to move.

I am brought back to this memory of the day we both were working out on the pipeline. You needed a ride back home and then back to my hometown.  As you walked into your home and came back out, we started our journey back to my hometown.  Turn the corner near your house. We had a conversation. You said to me" I am not going to live past the age of 30". I said "oh", "how will you tell people its your time"? You said "I will phone my mom". I said "OK".

The month before, your past years went by as we got older and lost contact, but that was March 2000. You phoned me out of the blue. We talked for about a couple of hours. What was happening in your life and how you feared certain things. I told you that it's OK, I am here for you. Life does not have to go down this road for you. You laughed and said it took detours. Our conversation picked up where it left off, back to the banter and funny memories again. You, at the very end, told me our friendship meant a lot. I said the same as you.

In April, you passed away at 29 years old. As I was sitting at your funeral and an empty chair beside me. Your family member during the service. Told us all that a hr before you passed. You phoned your mom and said you were coming home. I was taken back to the moment on our drive together. You trusted me to tell me your life path. I was just happy I was on the path with you for this short time here on earth.
